Another year, another successful TrueLogic Halloween party. Following the annual tradition of celebrating All Hallows Eve like no one else can, the Truelogic employees came up with their best for the costume, video, and room decorating competitions — all for the sake of the Halloween spirit, to grow closer as a company, and of course, to win lots of cash!
Three teams competed for the top prizes this year: Admin Room (web developers, training and marketing guys), Ops (sales and production), and the Middle Room a.k.a Business Support Room (finance, content and hr).
Each team participated actively in the video and room decoration contests. It was a virtual free-for-all in the individual costume contest.
The competition was fierce, with every team putting every ounce of creativity into their plans, and put together the most amazing Halloween celebration to date. While everyone was rightfully proud of their work, there can be only one winner for each contest.
Spooky Costume Contest
The creativity of costumes was just breathtaking, if not hair-raising. Each participant obviously worked hard to stand-out. This year’s spookers were an interesting mix of characters: Jason and Freddie Krueger came back to life; the headless nun scared the holy crap out of everyone; the disgruntled bride was as creepy as hell and so was the possessed Geisha.
Dota’s Pudge, Chuckie (the killer doll), and the holier-than-thou American Horror Story nuns also came to play. The hunchback of Content entertained everyone with her moves and outshone Maleficent, who never got an invite, but crashed the party anyway.
It was difficult for the judges to choose who among the nine finalists should take home the Php 5,000 cash prize.

Second place – Ariel Dacanay
Top Winner – Au Banaag
Spooky Video Contest
After the individual awards were done, the attention shifted to the team contests, and the competition ramped up. The teams kicked it off with the video contest that had diverse approaches and themes. Moving chairs, groping ghosts, and sound effects – lots of sound effects – petrified the audience.
In the end, it was the Admin team who rose above the others and got Php 5,000 cash for their effort. Project managers CJ and Pao should start considering acting jobs for their believable performance in the video.
Winner: Admin Team
Spooky Room Decoration Contest
The next category was room decoration, arguably the most labor intensive. Each room started oozing blood, collecting cobwebs, and amassing arsenals in a matter of hours. It was probably the most thrilling among the 3 competitions.
Other than the theatrical showmanship, each room came up with designs and presentations that impressed the judges. So much so that they awarded each with Php5,000 for the sheer effort and selected a winner for bragging rights.
Winner: The Business Support Room
Finally, the judges awarded the team who got the highest combined points from the three categories with Php 15,000 cold cash. The Business Support Room, having the most number of points, was declared the winner.
Overall Contest Winner: The Business Support Room
High Five Celebrations
The first being the movie night with Dracula last October 17, another successful event hosted by HR, this year’s Halloween Party is the second part of the company’s 5th anniversary celebration called High Five.
If everything else kicks off with this much enthusiasm and energy, then the next anniversary celebration will be a tough act to follow.
