‘Tis the season to be grateful.

This may not be how the popular Christmas carol goes, but TrueLogic believes there’s no better time than now to give back to the community and be more grateful for what we have. On December 13, we conducted our very first corporate social responsibility (CSR) event dubbed, One for TLOS (The Love of Sharing) at Nayon ng Kabataan in Mandaluyong City—a haven for the abused, orphaned, and abandoned children.
When we learned we’re set to bond with kids in a day of fun, sharing, and gift-giving, we couldn’t contain our excitement. We finally got to spread the holiday cheer, and prepped ourselves to shower the kids with love and affection they deserve.

OUR WAY OF SHARING LOVE

We started the program with a solemn prayer led by our Workforce Supervisor, Rex Eugenio, followed by a heartwarming opening message from our very own CEO, Itamar Gero. He talked about how TrueLogic values corporate social involvement, and ended his piece with a, “This is our way of sharing the love.”
Nayon ng Kabataan’s Ms. Rea led the welcoming remarks, while Project Manager, CJ Masungsong, and Research and Development – Lead, MC Rogado, (Kuya CJ and Kuya MC as the kids called them) hosted the event.

TEAM GWAPO VS. TEAM MALAKAS

We spent the entire morning sharing stories and playing games with the 100 active boys and girls of Nayon ng Kabataan. TrueLogic employees and the NK kids all got together and split into two teams—Team Gwapo vs. Team Malakas.

The two teams competed in a game of basketball, football, and patintero. The scores and announcements are drowned out by, “Manalo, matalo, gwapo pa rin kami! Go, Gwapo!” and “Go Team Malakas!” cheers. The guys played basketball with the kids and took the time to teach them about football, while the girls led the two teams in Patintero.

Team Malakas dominated most of the games—but the whole program was really not about winning or losing, but about having fun and giving the NK kids the love and attention they need.
We have tons of photos that show the children doing amazing things—doing lay-ups in basketball, taking goal kicks in football, and even doing handstands in the field.

PERFORMANCES, FOOD, AND GIFTS

After the tiring games, some of the NK kids performed and danced to the beat of Dessert, while another group sang ABS-CBN’s Thank You for the Love. We then shared a hearty meal and proceeded to distribute bags of candies and chocolates as souvenirs.

We also left boxes of gift items and toys for the kids to enjoy.
But it seems that we gave the kids something more than chocolates and toys—something far more special. One orphan even eagerly asked, “Ate, kailan kayo babalik?” (When are you coming back?)

After the program, we boarded the bus and left Nayon ng Kabataan with a newfound love for kids, and a newfound love for sharing.
“COLLABORATIVE. MANAGING CHANGE. COMMUNICATION. We saw those words in each of us and we worked well as a team. It was an experience we won’t forget, our eyes were opened and we realized how privileged we are,” Maya Guilatco, our HR manager said. “Let’s apply those three words in the office, it makes things better.”

DOING THINGS THAT MATTER

There is a saying that this time of the year brings out the best in people—and for TrueLogic employees, it really did. Maybe it’s the twinkling lights, meaningful Christmas songs, or the shiny new gifts we give to one another at the office—whatever it is, we know that this is the time to spread the holiday cheer and share what we have.
TrueLogic understands that we are working for something bigger than ourselves. Our business is not one dimensional, and more importantly, our business cares about people.
Join our team and be part of our goal to do things that matter, and do things better.

“Ah-ah, aso / Buh-buh, bola / Kuh-kuh, Kaktus…”, lyrics from the kid’s favorite “Alpabasa” played on endless loop on March 4th. That Saturday afternoon, a team of volunteers from TrueLogic Online Solutions visited the CRIBS Foundation, a non-profit organization that takes in orphaned infants and young survivors of abuse.

The activity was the first in line for #OneForTrueLogic, TrueLogic’s continuing drive to reach out and touch lives under its corporate social responsibility program.

The day was marked by ear-to-ear smiles and warmth. For the toddlers at CRIBS, the volunteers prepared a kiddie party. Origami boats sailed across the playroom while paper cranes dangled above the shindig.

“Mano po, nay! Mano po, tay!”

TrueLogic Online Solutions’s team of volunteers happily greeted the elders in a tradition Filipinos hold dear. After giving respect, the team looked forward to a special day with lovely seniors at the San Lorenzo Ruiz Home for the Elderly – a non-profit organization that helps Manila’s abandoned and less fortunate elderly.

CSR team leads Keith Rosales and April Grace Sumugat opened the program with a warm welcome for the seniors, followed by a word of prayer from Den Noble of the Content Department.

To entertain the seniors, the team came up with their very own version of Showtime, a popular noontime show. The cast ensemble included the following:

Vice Ganda – Sam Enriquez (Senior Operations Team Leader)
Kuya Kim – Eric Coronel (Project Manager)
Anne Curtis – Ashley Petallano (Interim Senior Web Content Writer)
Karylle – Inna Espiritu (Web Content Writer)
Jugs – Keith Rosales (Project Manager)

San Lorenzo Ruiz’s residents enjoyed the string of activities. The seniors were thrilled with games of “Hep,Hep, Hooray!” and showcased their singing prowess at the Tawag ng Tanghalan segment.

The elderlies astounded the volunteers with their seemingly endless energy as they sang and danced endless rounds of cha-cha.

The TL volunteers likewise enjoyed interacting with the oldies, hearing their stories as well as heeding wise words on how to live better and sharing love whenever there’s a chance.

Graphic motion artist Leonard Fernandez captured the event through his lens.

According to Senior Writer, Andy Carolino, the whole experience taught her (and the rest of the team) one lesson: treasure the ones you hold dear. She adds that visiting the needy elderly gave her a new perspective on family – how children should never take their parents for granted – a constant reminder from San Lorenzo Ruiz’s residents.

The two-hour event capped off with the volunteers rewarding delicious biscuits to the seniors, as well as a delicious meal shared with each other.

And it was time to say goodbye.

The lolos and lolas of San Lorenzo Ruiz couldn’t stop thanking the volunteers for their time and support. But for the TrueLogic team, it was them they had to thank – for their warm smiles and the valuable experience.
